Here’s a roundup of some recent news items about film festivals, films to watch, foundation support for women in the arts and more.

Film Festival News: Here’s a look at the just-wrapped Brooklyn Women’s Film Festival via The Cut.

Foundation News: The Kentucky Foundation for Women recently awarded grants. Check out the great work the foundation supports HERE.

Return Engagement: The Hearth (we interviewed them for their first show) will bring back its hit production of Gracie Gardner’s Athena this fall at JACK in Brooklyn. Great reviews and terrific word-of-mouth make it a very hot show to see in NYC. Read more at BroadwayWorld.com.

Oscars Invite: The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences invited 928 people to join its membership; 49% of the invitees are women and about 30% are people of color. Read The New York Times article HERE.

Filmmaking Scholarships: The Los Angeles Film School announced a new scholarship fund for women filmmakers–$1.5 million dollars. Learn more at Deadline.com.
