Here’s the latest news and opportunities in the world for women artists.

Interview with Domee Shi: Bao–the first Pixar short film directed by a woman–premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. Marketwatch interviews director Domee Shi, who was also a story artist on Inside Out, about creating Bao. Read the interview HERE.

Artist Residency in Tennessee: The Sundress Academy for the Arts (SAFTA) is now accepting applications for short-term artists’ residencies in creative writing, visual art, film/theater, music, and more. Deadline for Fall Farmhouse Residencies (August 12-December 30, 2018) is May 1st. Learn more HERE.

New York Opportunity: AIOP 2018: BODY is curated by Katya Grokhovsky presenting projects by women, female identifying and non-binary artists along 14th Street, NY on October 11-14, 2018, accompanied by a coinciding group exhibition at Westbeth Gallery October 2018. Film Finishing Fund: The Women In Film Finishing Fund gives grants to filmmakers working in both short and long formats, in all genres — narrative, documentary, animated and experimental. Applications opened on April 27, 2018. Apply HERE.

New York City Supports Female-Identified Filmmakers: On April 18th, Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment announced that it will take the most comprehensive action to date with 5 new initiatives addressing gender inequity in the entertainment sector. Learn more HERE.
