ICYMI, here are some recent articles on or about women in the arts.

First, the good news…

The New York Times in-depth interview with Sarah Lewis about guest editing Aperture’s issue on the black experience. Must read.

Vulture interviews three prominent women cinematographers (Maryse Alberti, Natasha Braier and Rachel Morrison) about life behind the camera.

The Interval looks at theatermaker Elizabeth Swados’ legacy.

•According to Variety, WestEnd Films is launching a female-focused slate of content–films, TV shows, documentaries and more. First up, films by Agnieszka Holland and Alexis Zegerman.

Kristen Anderson-Lopez‘s a cappella musical In Transit comes to Broadway this fall. She is known for her Oscar-winning work on Frozen. James-Allen Ford, Russ Kaplan and Sara Wordsworth also created the musical.

Now, things that need to be changed.

•On Howlround, Porsche McGovern revealed the data from her second phase of studying the hiring of designers in LORT theatres. Not a pretty picture for women designers. Read all about it here.
