Supporting creative work by women
Sunday night’s Tony Awards telecast made history–with Audra McDonald’s record-breaking sixth Tony win. And she’s picked up trophies in all four actress categories–lead and featured in both musicals and plays. An amazing accomplishment for an extraordinarily talented woman. The ceremony also relaunched the debate about gender parity in theater since there were no new plays by women on the Broadway stage this season.
