Jennifer Haley Wins Blackburn Prize

jennifer-haleyCongratulations to Jennifer Haley, the Los Angeles-based playwright, for being named the 2012 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize winner last night. Haley receives $20,000 and a signed, numbered print by Willem de Kooning. Haley won the prize for her play The Nether. Here’s a great interview with Jennifer Haley on Adam Szymkowicz’s blog.

Last year, Katori Hall was awarded the prize for her play Hurt Village, which just opened at Signature Theatre in New York City.
