Are you ready to ‘Dally With The Devil’?

Works by Women has been on hiatus this summer as we streamlined our offerings.  I’ll have more on the changes to the Meetup Group portion of Works by Women soon as well as a slew of interviews with women theater artists in the weeks ahead.

Works by Women is ecstatic about the fall season with lots of new plays to see and enjoy.  Next up for us as a group are Temporal Powers by Teresa Deevy at the Mint Theater on September 22nd  and Lidless presented by P73 Productions at Walkerspace on September 27th.

Although we aren’t taking a group to this show, we wanted to pass along this offer  from Rachel Reiner Productions.  Rachel, as many of you may know, is the former co-president of the League of Professional Theatre Women.

ABOUT DALLY WITH THE DEVIL
Just in time for election season, Victor L. Cahn’s Dally With The Devil focuses on three women immersed in political intrigue: two officials from opposing campaigns competing to use a powerful blogger to influence the outcome of a Senatorial election.  As charges escalate, tactics shift, and the battle swerves in unexpected directions. Dally With The Devil is filled with power plays, blackmail, and plenty of media spin…it’s politics as usual.

While the play was written by a man (something, I should point out, we are not opposed to!), many members of the production team are women: Producer (Rachel Reiner), Set Designer (Jisun Kim), Lighting Designer (Pamela Kupper), Costume Designer (Michelle Eden Humphrey), Props Master (Lauren Madden), Master Electrician (Flora Vassar), and Assistant Stage Manager (Veronica Graveline).  The cast — Elizabeth A. Davis, Elizabeth Norment, Erika Rolfsrud — is three women as well.
